At Cottesloe Child Care Centre we believe that high quality care and early education can make a significant difference in a child’s development. Our Centre reflects best practice in early childhood education and has been formally recognised for exceeding the National Quality Standards in Educational Program and Practise.
We employ a full time early childhood teacher who is the facilitator of our kindergarten program and is the Centre’s educational leader – overseeing all of our educational programs and supporting our qualified educators in program delivery.
Elements of our holistic pedagogical approach include:
Play – children need to be actively engaged through hands-on, exploration and investigation
Partnership – we recognise the connections between children, families and communities and the importance of reciprocal relationships and partnerships for learning
Teaching – our intentional teaching assists cognitive development (literacy, numeracy) and further equips children with valuable life skills (social, emotional, communication, physical) as they develop
Reflection – educators gather information and gain insights that support, inform and enrich decision making about children’s learning
Professional practise – educator’s examine what happens in their setting
